Former Tribune employee Kamaleswar Sarmah dead

GUWAHATI, Aug 18 - Kamaleswar Sarmah, who retired from The Assam Tribune, passed away at 10.30 pm on August 17 at his Chenikuthi residence here following a brief illness. He was 68.

Having served The Assam Tribune for 45 years, he was also an office-bearer of the Assam Tribune Employees� Union on several occasions, besides serving as secretary of Balichanda Sangha of Sukreswar here.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter, besides a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law along with a grandchild.

His body was brought to The Assam Tribune complex at around 11.15 am today when members of the management, employees� union and his colleagues paid floral tributes on his mortal remains. His last rites were performed at the Nabagraha crematorium.
