GUWAHATI, June 1 - Former Assam Santosh Trophy player Jayanta Das (74) passed away at his Rehabari residence here this morning.

A former employee of the Guwahati Refinery, Das was one of the tricky players Assam has produced. Starting his career with Gauhati Town Club, he represented the Guwahati team in the senior inter district tournaments on several occasions. Later, he was selected to represent the State team in Santosh Trophy.

He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
