Former MLA joins UDP

TURA, June 8 - United Democratic Party (UDP), a regional party in Meghalaya, which has been looking to get a foothold in Garo Hills, was bolstered on Wednesday by the joining of former MLA Nidhuram Hajong. He joined UDP along with another aspiring candidate, Chris Kabul A Sangma, both of whom are expected to contest the upcoming 2018 elections.

While Hajong is expected to contest from Mahendraganj, Sangma will contest from Selsella constituency. The duo joined the party in a meeting organised by party�s West Garo Hills district committee at Rongkhon Derangittim near here.
