Former DGP RN Mathur dead

GUWAHATI, March 12 � Former Director General of Assam Police Ravindra Nath Mathur passed away at his residence in Ajmer, Rajasthan last night around 11.30 pm due to illness. He was 61.

Mathur, an Indian Police Service officer of 1973 batch, during his career spanning 36 years of service, served as ASP Khasi Hills, SDPO Nongstain, Addl SP Dibrugarh, Commandant 2nd APBn, SP Lakhimpur, Commandant. 9th.APBn,� DIGP (Range), IGP(L/O), IGP(BIEO), IGP MD APHC Ltd, IGP(CID), IGP(Admn), ADGP(Admn), ADGP(CID), DGP(V&AC), DG CD & CGHG �Assam, DGP Assam, DG CD & CGHG Assam.

The Director General of Police, Assam and all members of the Assam Police conveyed their condolence and sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
