GUWAHATI, Sept 21 - Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora today offered greetings to the nascent United People�s Front.

In a statement, Bora said that the new organisation would play a significant role in protecting the interest of the indigenous peoples of the State.

Bora demanded steps to accord Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the six ethnic groups � Koch Rajbongshis, Tai Ahoms, Adivasis, Moran, Motoks and Chutiyas � by December next.

Bora today paid a visit to Miliki Barua, the ailing mother of ULFA C-in-C Paresh Barua, at her Chabua Jeraigaon residence and wished her quick recovery.
