JORABAT, Nov 25 - Forest Beat Officer Khagen Bhuyan of Morokdola Beat Office against whom the Dimoria AASU unit has constantly levelled allegations of corruption, has been transferred, sources said. The AASU unit had also moved the State Forest Department against Bhuyan.
The Dimoria AASU unit president said that he was happy over the development and hoped that the new officer would perform his duty of conserving forests with dedication.
It may be noted that State Forest Minister Atuwa Munda had visited a forest under the Morokdola Forest Beat recently and confirmed that trees were being felled. Munda ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter after the visit.
