Forest minister�s effigy burnt

TEZPUR, Feb 5 � In protest against the alleged failure to protect the world famous one horned rhinoceros in different reserved forests and sanctuaries across the State for the last few months, the Sonitpur district AASU and the local trade union of Gingia area in Biswanath Chariali burnt the effigy of Forest minister Rockybul Hussain on Monday at Rotwa area on 52 National Highway under Gingia Police Station of Biswanath sub-division in Sonitpur district.

AASU, central executive Duldul Borkotoki alleged that the government has failed to protect the wild animals of the State. �If the government as well as the forest minister can�t do any needful for the checking of the on going poaching and killing of wild animals in the State the forest minister should resign without any delay� he said.
