DIPHU, March 12 - As per Election Commission of India guidelines and in pursuance of the smooth conduct of the ensuing Assam State Assembly Election, 2016 the Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong, by a notification issued on Friday, has constituted Flying Squad and Static Surveillance Team (SST) under 18-Howraghat (ST) and 19-Diphu (ST) LACs respectively.

In 18-Howraghat LAC, the flying squads will cover the polling stations of Howraghat, Dokmoka, Angjokpani (Parrkupahar), Samelangso, Rongbongwe and likewise, the Static Surveillance Team are Uttarborbil and Parokhowa, falling within the jurisdiction of the flying squads. The Flying Squad and Surveillance Team under 19-Diphu LAC will fall in the polling station of Diphu, Borlangphar, Manja, Bakalia and Dhansiri. This team will set up check posts on major arterial roads borders of the district and the State and shall keep a watch on the movement of antisocial elements in their areas. The entire process of checking shall be videographed and daily reports sent to the Returning Officer and the District Election Officer.
