Flood relief materials distributed

GUWAHATI, July 28 - The Bidyamandir HS School Welfare Alumni Association of Guwahati on Sunday carried out a relief material distribution drive among more than 180 flood-affected families of Baruabari Gaon Panchayat of Kamrup (Metro) district.

The association distributed rice, dal, chira, sugar, mustard oil, milk, candles and matchsticks to the affected families with the cooperation of gaon panchayat officials.

The city-based Apollo Hospitals on Sunday also conducted a flood relief camp along with free health check-up in Hadala village and Monakuchi village II in Kamrup district. Around 250 patients were checked and free medicines distributed to them. Relief materials including various food items, packaged drinking water and sanitary napkins for women along with clothes were provided to 500 families, totalling around 3,000 people, according to a statement from the hospital.

The North East Debaters� Association also distributed relief materials among 120 flood-affected families at Dimou locality of Panikhaiti area.
