Flood relief camps at Kaziranga, Bokakhat

GUWAHATI, Sept 9 - The Congress party organised a flood relief camps in Kaziranga and Bokakhat areas on Tuesday in presence of the Koliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi. Around five to six thousand flood-hit people took part in the camps and received the relief materials distributed by the MP on behalf of the ruling party.

According to a press release issued by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), rice, dal, chira, biscuits, glucose, gur, candles, match boxes, bleaching powder etc., were distributed among the flood-hit people.

Addressing the flood-hit people, Gaurav Gogoi said that Congress party has always stood by the people of Assam whenever the situation so demanded. He criticised the Union Government for its step motherly treatment to the people of Assam in this hour of need.

Gaurav Somani, secretary (Media) APCC played an important role in organising the entire relief camp. Bengaluru-based NGO MCKS Trust Fund, Agarwal Yuva Parishad, Guwahati branch and Marwari Sanmelan extended help in organising and arranging the flood relief materials, said the press release.
