DIPHU, Aug 8 - Incessant rains over the past several days have affected standing crops in Bokajan sub-division. The flood waters have inundated new areas of the sub-division causing severe hardships for the people. Several hectares of paddy have been destroyed by flood water. The farmers are now worried over the situation and have demanded immediate help from the authorities concerned. �We want a permanent solution to the perennial flood as our crops have been completely destroyed,� a group of farmers said while sharing information with this correspondent. They also appealed to the Agriculture department to assess the damage caused by recent floods.
