ITANAGAR, Sept 7 - More than 100 families were affected by the devastating flood at Anpum and Loklung villages under Paglam Circle in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, according to an official source.
Paglam Circle Officer Tatling Pertin informed over the phone that 103 families have been affected by swelling flood waters in Sikang, Sisiri and Dotung rivers at Anpum and Loklung villages. Out of these, 73 houses were washed out by flood waters and remaining ones had to be dismantled to avert household property losses.
A relief camp was being set up at Anpum school ground for the flood victims.
Meanwhile, the district administration has arranged airlifting of rice and essential medicines for the flood-hit families.
