Five Star Southern Samity beat AP Blues

DULIAJAN, FEB 17 � In the ongoing 6th Oil India Challenge Gold Cup Football Tournament here at Nehru Maiden, in a pre-quarterfinal match, Five Star Southern Samity, Kolkata drubbed Assam Police Blues, Guwahati 2-1. Robijit Jigdung of Southern Samity gave the lead in the 17th minute followed by Edmilson Marquse adding another goal (penalty) in the 61st minute of the match.

Marques Perira of Assam Police Blues reduced the margin in the 65th minute of the match. Monoj Das, Edmilson Marquse and Kaushik Biswas of Southern Samity were cautioned for rough play.

On the other hand in another pre-quarterfinal match in the afternoon, ASEB, Guwahati outplayed Techno Aryan Club, Kolkata 2-0. Dibendu Patra and Dipankar Sarkar of ASEB scored the winning goals in the 25th and 85th minutes of the match. Mitradev Sargiwari and Priyo Kr Singh of ASEB were cautioned and sent off for rough play. Besides Powerful Ayor of Techno Aryan Club was cautioned and later set off for rough play. Tomorrow, Gauhati Town Club will clash with JCB Bhillai, Chattisgarh in a pre-quarterfinal match in the morning and NISA, Manipur will take on Punjab Police in the first quarterfinal match in the afternoon.
