GUWAHATI, June 7 � In a bid to protect the wetlands of Guwahati city, the district administration, which has already started the eviction drive, has lodged an FIR against Jahijuddin Islam and Jaro Miya at Chachal (Satgaon) police station.
Both of them had been selling and filling the land of Silsako beel.
The district administration has already marked the Silsako beel and has started demarcating the boundary.
The process will be completed within 15 days. The district administration has ordered GMDA to start the fencing work on the wetland.
