RANGIYA, Dec 4 - The final electoral roll for the forthcoming panchayat elections has been published by the Rangiya administration. In a meeting convened by the SDO (Civil )of Rangiya subdivision here at the conference hall of the SDO office, mediapersons were told that the name of 2,61,990 voters figures in the panchayat poll in all the seven zila parishad constituencies (ZPC)s. ZPCs include the names of 20 No. Paschim Borigog, 21 No. Pub-Barigog, 22 No. Panduri, 23 No. Pub Kachari Mahal, 24 No. Patidarang, 25 No. Pubpar and 26 No. Modartola ZPC respectively. The total figure includes 1,38,298 males and 1,23,692 females.
There are a total of four Anchalik Panchayats (APs) � Rangiya, Kamalpur, Bihdia-Jajikona and Hajo (part) respectively. It needs mention here the during the last 2013 panchayat elections, there were 2,33,793 voters showing an 11 per cent increase.
The SDO informed that necessary preparatory works for the smooth conduct of the polls in all the 400 gaon panchayat ward constituencies is on in full swing.
Meanwhile, related works in connection with reservation of women, SC and ST candidates for the panchayat poll have been completed, the SDO said urging support and cooperation from all sections of the society for a peaceful poll in the area.
