IMPHAL, Nov 22 - Young filmmaker from Manipur, Ashok Veilou�s 13-minute 33 second film Tou-Tai (Seed) won the best short film in National best short film category in the 22nd Kolkata International Film Festival which concluded on Friday.

The film was also screened in Kalpanirjhar International Film Festival 2016 and Filmingo Short Film Festival, Mumbai. He is presently pursuing his post-graduation Diploma in direction and screenplay writing in Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata.

His film Tou-Tai is a tale of Vio, a young insurgent who is in the crossroads during his short vacation at home because of the armed conflict in Manipur but decides to be in the jungle, according to the synopsis of the film.
