FIFA coaches� course ends

GUWAHATI, Dec 1 � The six-day FIFA sponsored coaches� coaching course came to an end here today.

The camp, for the coaches of North-eastern States, was organised by Assam Football Association (AFA). Altogether 28 coaches from Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya took part in the camp where FIFA instructor Pieter Abraham Hambarg of Holland imparted training.

In the closing function, held at the conference hall of Assam Olympic Association, the FIFA trainer urged the trainee coaches to work with the youngsters at the grassroot level and teach them the basics of the game properly.

He also appealed the coaches of this region to motivate youngsters for taking this game seriously so that they can develop their skills.

He also praised the entire batch and termed them as talented. Few trainee coaches from Assam, Mizoram, Manipur and Meghalaya also expressed their views on the camp and said it was an useful one.

AFA secretary Ankur Dutta, GSA president Rana Goswami, Director of Sports Gaurav Bothra, SAI city centre Director in-charge Subhash Basumatary were also present on the occasion.

Certificates, sent by FIFA, were also distributed to the coaches.
