GUWAHATI, March 26 - Conservation NGO Aaranyak in association with the Guwahati Wildlife Division of the State Forest Department organised a field gear distribution ceremony at the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary on Friday to encourage and enhance the exemplary work of the frontline staff of the sanctuary.

Attending the ceremony, Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma thanked Aaranyak for the initiative and urged all concerned to work with more vigour to conserve Assam�s pride, the one-horned rhino.

The frontline personnel working in Pobitora were offered rucksack bags, windcheaters, raincoats and torch-lights to enhance their efforts in protecting rhinos and other wildlife in Pobitora.

The programme was sponsored by Attila Hildmann and NABU International Foundation for Nature, a press release said.
