GUWAHATI, June 19 - The second edition of the International Fide Rating Chess Tournament Assam will be held at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium, in the RG Baruah Sports Complex here from July 8 to 13.
The Rs three lakh tournament will be organised by the Chess Players Parents� Forum, Guwahati in association with Guwahati Chess Association. The organisers are expecting more than 250 players.
The champion of the tournament will be richer by Rs 50,000 while runners up will be awarded Rs 30,000.
International Arbiter Asit Baran Choudhury will officiate in the tournament as chief arbiter and M Arun Singh will be the deputy chief arbiter of the tournament, stated a release.
