JORHAT, April 2 - On the third day of Namami Brahmaputra festival, Golaghat district administration resumed the ferry service from Dhansirighat to Gamirighat of Biswanath district on Sunday which was suspended for about four years.
Participating in the programme of resuming the ferry services at Dhansirighat, State Agriculture Minister and MLA of Bokakhat, Atul Bora, said that the river-port should be named after the first actress of Assamese cinema Aideo Handique.
Along with the minister, several bureaucrats of Golaghat district administration also opined that the ferry services between Dhansirighat and Gamirighat will help the people immensely in travel and transportation of goods through the waterways of the Brahmaputra.
