GUWAHATI, Dec 27 - In view of the publication of the part draft of the NRC, female teachers in sensitive areas in the State will be shifted and their jobs swapped with male teachers.

Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said the government has directed the deputy commissioners to make an assessment and submit proposals for such transfers in their districts. The government will issue the transfer orders within a couple of days.

Asked if the transfer would be permanent, the minister said the government would assess the situation later and take a call.

The minister also said the process of mutual transfer of teachers within the district would begin in January. Those seeking such transfer can apply online, he said.
