GUWAHATI, July 19 - The 2nd Federation Cup Rollball Championship, organised by the Assam Rollball Association got underway at the Deshbhakta Tarun Phookan Indoor Stadium here today.
Vice chairperson of the Sports Authority of Assam, Queen Ojha inaugurated the championship in the opening ceremony where NERIM Director Dr Sangeeta Tripathi was also present.
On the opening day, Assam women�s team defeated Tamil Nadu 4-1 while the men�s team edged past Jharkhand 3-2. In the other matches held today, Uttar Pradesh trounced Jammu and Kashmir 11-2 in the men�s category while Chhattisgarh played a 1-1 draw against Jammu and Kashmir in the women�s section. In another match, Assam defeated Delhi 4-2 in the men�s category.
