FCI turn tables on Dynamo

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 10 On a slushy Nehru Stadium ground here today, Food Corporation of India (FCI) Sports Club earned a deserving 2-1 victory against Dynamo Club in their GSA Super Division football league.

Two snap goals scored by Birdwm Basumatary in the 16th minute and Mani Ram Machahary in the 18th minute put FCI 2-0 ahead in the first session.

Dynamo tried their hearts out to get back into the game and fired the reducer in the 63rd minute through Ronal Singh. But the FCI defenders restricted the agressive Dynamo attackers with a great deal of determination.

Dynamo goalkeeper Deepang Limbu could be held responsible for the first goal as he failed to grip the ball off a soft shot taken by Akan Khaklary. Following the ball, Birdwm pushed the ball to take FCI ahead.

Just after two minutes Paniram beat the Dynamo keeper with a header getting a high ball from Lalnunsanga. Ronal reduced the margin off a melee.

FCI defenders Sochin Basumatary and captain Akon Khaklary today put up a very spirited show and foiled all the Dynamo moves with perfect anticipation. Their midfielders Birdwm also toiled a lot in the middle third of the pitch.

Dynamo players were off coloured and distinctly were over powered in every department. Their coach made a mistake by withrawing Abraham Goodluck in the second session as power game was needed on such a ground.
