Faculty, DPS win

GUWAHATI, Jan 8 � Delhi Public School (DPS) humbled Maharishi Vidya Mandir by 98 runs and Faculty HS School trounced South Point School by six wickets in today�s matches of the ongoing inter-school cricket tournament for the Nabin Chandra Tamuly Trophy at the Nehru Stadium here.

In the day�s first match, South Point scored 122 for seven in 25 overs with Avinash Terang being the top scorer with 23.

The target was not tough for Faculty as they reached the target in 21.5 overs losing four wickets. Kankanjyoti Nath top scored with 57. In the second encounter, DPS scored a commendable total of 117 for two and bundled out Maharishi for a meagre 79. Hrishikest Tamuly hammared a solid 80 and Niraj Sarma contributed 61.

Brief scores: South Point 122/7 (Avinash Terang 23, Sahil Jain 20, Deep Karmakar 19, Kumar Kashyap 2/8, Sarad Surana 2/29). Faculty 124/4 (Kankanjyoti Nath 57, Harish Chowrasia 38, Avinash Terang 2/19).
