GUWAHATI, June 8 � Goalpara Cricket Coaching Centre and Titabar Cricket Coaching Centre posted facile victories in the group league matches of the Dilip Sarma Memorial U-14 Inter District Coaching Centre/Cricket Academy Cricket Championship, organised by the Assam Cricket Association here today.
At the Nehru Stadium, Goalpara hammered Morigaon Cricket Academy by 89 runs while at the NF Railway Stadium, Maligaon, Titabar outclassed Bajali by eight wickets.
Put into bat Goalpara scored a challenging 198 for nine in the allotted 40 overs. Gaurav Thakuria contributed unbeaten 60. Gaurav faced 111 balls and hit six boundaries. Chasing the tough target, Morigaon boys were all out for 109 in 31.2 overs. Azizur Rahman top scored with 42 while Mantu Das took three Morigaon wickets giving away 24 runs.
At Maligaon, Titabar bowlers took only 15 overs to sweep away the Bajali batting line-up for 26 and later scored 27 losing two wickets in 7.2 overs.
