EZ kho-kho inaugurated

GUWAHATI, April 1 - The 20th Senior East Zone Kho-Kho Championship was formally inaugurated by the Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Sanjib Kumar Gohain Baruah at the South Point School premises here today.

The championship was scheduled to be held at the South Point School campus from today but due to inclement weather condition the matches could not be started.

The venue has been shifted to the LNIPE campus, Tepesia where the matches will be played in indoor hall.

Rajib Prakash Baruah, vice president of the Kho-Kho Federation of India, Subodu Malla Baruah, president of the Sports Journalists Federation of India, were also present on the occasion.

Altogether 10 States � West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Tripura, Sikkim (only women), Nagaland, Manipur and host Assam are taking part in the championship which will be a league-cum-knock out affair. The championship is organised by Saptarenu, an NGO on behalf of the Assam Kho-Kho Association.
