GUWAHATI, March 11 - A national-level expo to promote handloom, handicraft, sericulture and textiles of Tripura, and to create opportunities for local artisans and traders, organised by the Directorate of Handloom, Handicrafts and Sericulture under the Tripura government, will be held at the Khanapara Sports & Cultural Organization (Ganesh Mandir Indoor Stadium) ground from March 12 to 26.

The expo will be inaugurated by Bishnu Kamal Borah, Director, Handloom & Textiles, government of Assam. Swapnamoy Bandhopadhay, Zonal Director, Weavers Service Centre, Eastern Zone, will be the chief guest, while MC Deka, Managing Director, ARTFED, Guwahati, will be the guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony.

The ceremony will be presided over by Ajit Debnath, joint resident commissioner, Tripura Bhawan, Guwahati. The expo has been sponsored by the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, under the Union Ministry of Textiles.
