Expedite talks with insurgent groups: NFNS

NEW DELHI, Nov 15 - The National Federation for New States (NFNS) has urged the Centre to expedite the dialogue process with different insurgent groups of Northeast to bring about lasting peace and political stability in the region.

The resolution was adopted during the two-day demonstration that came to end on Sunday. The NFNS has decided to welcome the Naga Peace Accord signed on August 3 between Government of India and NSCN (I-M) and hoped that this would bring peace in the region. �We have also urged upon the Government of India to come forward with concrete steps to address such other similar issues,� the resolution stated.

The resolution further urged the Centre to reorganise States of the country for creation of new States. It urged the Centre to bring about immediate amicable solutions to all pending demands for new States such as Bodoland, Bundelkhand, Gorkhaland, Kukiland, Tipraland, Karbi State, Dimaraji, through a holistic national policy.
