GUWAHATI, Oct 29 - Former State Ranji player Chinmoy Baruah was today arrested by the narcotics cell of the Assam Police�s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) from inside the RG Baruah Sports Complex on charges of peddling restricted drugs.
Sleuths of the CID also recovered 17 bottles of Escuf, a banned cough syrup, from his possession.
A former Assam all-rounder, Baruah (42), was under the scanner for quite some time, police said. Based on his revelations, police also arrested one Manwar Ali (36) on similar charges.
