Giriraj effigy burnt: Meanwhile, enraged at the alleged racist comment of Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (APMCC) today organised a protest rally at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, the State headquarters of the party in Itanagar, slamming the provocative remarks of the Union Minister and burnt the effigy of the BJP leader.

Giriraj had made a provocative statement in Bihars Hajipur on Tuesday that If former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had married a Nigerian ladythen would the Congress have accepted her leadership? A day earlier, State Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and APCC president Padi Richo strongly condemned the racist comment of Giriraj on Sonia Gandhi and demanded a public apology from the Union Minister.
