GUWAHATI, March 14 � The district administration has intensified its eviction drive, and on Wednesday, at the direction of Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro), Ashutosh Agnihotri, an eviction was carried out at West Boragaon.
It may be mentioned that the direction was given on receiving report that government land near Advance Studies of Science and Technology was sold off by a section of unscrupulous elements.
In today�s eviction drive, 30 thatched houses, three semi-pucca houses and a fishery mahal were demolished and around 35 bighas was freed of encroachment. The revenue officer concerned has also filed an FIR at Gorchuk PS against those involved in land fraud.
Meanwhile, the district administration has issued strong notice to all the encroachers to immediately vacate government land and warned of strong measures if the government land is not vacated.
