GUWAHATI, April 2 � A four-day event under the Chief Minister�s Gyanjyoti scheme got under way at the Sarusajai Stadium here today.
Students from 14 districts are taking part in the event organised under the aegis of the Kamrup Metro district administration.
The formal inauguration ceremony will be held at 9:30 am tomorrow. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will inaugurate it.
As part of the event, the district administration has made arrangements for the participating students to tour various educational and scientific institutions in the city. In addition, quiz competitions, extempore speech competitions and cultural programmes will also take place during the event, which will conclude on April 5.
A major attraction will be a special quiz programme on �Life and Achievements of Famous Personalities of Assam� scheduled for April 4. For every correct answer in the quiz, students will be given a cash award of Rs 100.
