Event for HSLC, HS candidates held

GUWAHATI, April 3 - Like in the previous years, Abhigyan Sibir and Abhigyan Sabha were held at the Assam Jatiya Bidyalay (AJB) campus, Noonmati here recently with a two-day programme.

These two occasions are organised every year in the school campus as a memorable event for the candidates appearing in the HSLC and HS final examinations. The HSLC candidates are given two days and one night and HS final year candidates are given a day�s time at the school campus for enjoying different programmes.

According to a press release received here, this year, during the first day�s programme, Dr Mythili Hazarika, Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, had an interaction programme with the candidates.

Sporting events, games and cultural programmes followed it.

On April 1, Dr Sachindra Kakoti, Professor and Dean (Infrastructure, Planning and Management), IIT, Guwahati, and Sanjib Kakoti, a distinguished career counsellor, had an interactive session with the students.

Dhiresh Narayan Choudhury, former judge of the Gauhati High Court, attended the open session of Abhigyan Sibir and Abhigyan Sabha as the chief guest and in his speech he dwelt on the importance of inculcating the habit of time management and discipline at the young age and urged the students to lead an honest and truthful life. A few candidates as well as their parents also spoke on the occasion.

The concluding session was attended by the Rector Ranjit Narayan Deka, Principal Ghanashyam Medhi, Secretary of the AJB management committee Dr Narayan Sharma, and president of the AJB management committee Dilip Kumar Dutta Choudhury, candidates and their parents and all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
