The drill christened the Great Assam School Shake-out programme will be conducted by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) in collaboration with the State Education Department, Fire & Emergency Services, NDRF and Civil Defence.

The programme will be conducted in 100 schools in each of the 33 districts of Assam, involving the district disaster management authorities, NDRF, Fire & Emergency Services, SDRF, Civil Defence, Inspector of Schools & District Elementary Education Office, Block School Safety Advisory Committees, cluster resource centre coordinator, teachers, volunteers and students.

The programme will begin at 11 am with an evacuation drill by students in case of fire or earthquake emergencies. Altogether, 3,300 schools will conduct this event in a single day at the same time.
