SIVASAGAR, Feb 13 � Both the BJP and the Congress won equal number of seats in the Sivasagar civic polls. According to reports from the DIPRO, both parties won six seats each, while Independent candidates bagged two seats.
Congress candidates from Ward No. 1 Azad Alam, Ward No. 2 Tasmin Doullah, Ward No. 3 Tasmina Karim, Ward No. 4 Anil Kumar Das, Ward No. 5 Priti Parik and Ward No. 9 Mitali Goswami won the polls. BJP candidates Bandana Kaushik Bordoloi (Ward No. 7), Pranabjyoti Barua (Ward No. 8), Trilochan Borthakur (Ward No. 10), Mrinali Konwar (Ward No. 11), Mridushmita Singha (Ward No. 12) and Kiran Barua (Ward No. 14) won their seats.
On the other hand, Independent candidates Rupa Bora and Rana Khan won the seats of Ward No. 6 and Ward No. 13 respectively.
