GUWAHATI, June 1 - The Munin Barkataki Memorial Trust has invited entries of manuscripts for this year�s Munin Barkataki Literary Award, a press release received here stated.

Instituted in 1995, the award is in memory of the Late litterateur, critic and journalist. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a memento and citation.

Contributors who are not more than 40 years of age as on January 1, 2016, are eligible to compete, the organisers informed.

Further, the competitors will need to have not more than three books published in their name within the period January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015. Books that have been awarded earlier at the State and national level will not be considered. Books on research topics or pure science will also not be considered, the organisers mentioned.

Upcoming writers have been advised to submit three copies of books published or three DTP copies of manuscripts along with self-initialled copy of age certificate within July 31 at the Guwahati-based office of the Trust. A form made available by the Trust has to be duly filled up, the release added.
