Enforcement units to keep a tab on prices

GUWAHATI, Jan 2 - The Kamrup Metro district administration has formed four enforcement units to keep the prices of essential commodities under control.

According to a statement, these units will comprise officials from the State departments of food, civil supply and consumer affairs, legal metrology, Fishfed and the Guwahati Municipal Corporation.

Under the supervision of DC Virendra Mittal, these units will carry out regular inspection in every large marketplace of Guwahati, including Super Market, Ganeshguri, Basistha, Beltola, Sixmile, Chandrapur, Narengi, Chandmari, Silpukhuri, Bamunimaidan, Noonmati, Bhangagarh, ABC, Uzan Bazar, Paltan Bazar, Dharapur, Azara, Fatasil Ambari, Maligaon, Pandu, Pandu Borabazar, Goshala, Shuttle Gate Bazar and Lokhra Bazar. Each group will also have to submit a regular report to the DC about the inspection status.
