GUWAHATI, April 11 - A senior citizen was grievously injured when she was attacked by a miscreant who barged into her house today in broad daylight and looted a sizeable amount of cash from her house.
The incident took place around 3 pm at the Manoranjan Residency located at Apurba Sinha Path in Rajgarh area when Bharati Mena (62) was alone in the house.
The victim, in her statement to police, said that the intruder had worked as a domestic help in her house in the past.
She was immediately rushed to a private hospital and is currently kept in the intensive care unit. �The miscreant knocked on the door and forcibly entered the house after which he attacked her with a pressure cooker,� said a relative of the victim.
A case has been registered in this connection. Police investigation is on.
