EcoFest held at Don Bosco School

GUWAHATI, May 26 - The Eco Club of Don Bosco School, Panbazar, recently organised an inter-school event �EcoFest 2019� that emphasised on spreading awareness on various environmental issues, stated a press release issued here on Sunday.

The event aimed at motivating the youth of Guwahati to join hands for the betterment of the environment. The organisers planned a lot of campaigns, including the �bring your own bottle� to refuse the use of plastic bottles during the event.

Dr Ashwini Sharma, North East head of the UN Chapter who was the guest of honour at the event, spoke on how the world was changing and people must work hard to make it better.

There was a short seminar by Padma Shri recipient Jadav Payeng, also known as the �Forest Man of India�, and all the guests at the event were presented a sapling.

Various competitions, including doodle art, photography, quiz and battle of bands, were held. The best school award was received by Faculty High School.
