East-West Corridor work

GUWAHATI, Feb 5 � A length of 431 km of the East-West Corridor in Assam has been completed till January 13, while its total length in Assam is 670 km. The total length under the National Highways Authority of India is 639 km. The entire work is being implemented under 26 �packages�.

According to official sources, by March 13, another 63 km is expected to be completed. The remaining parts are expected to be completed by December 14.

In a move that will come as a relief to commuters, it was announced that the Jalukbari junction is likely to be completed by November 13 and the new Brahmaputra Bridge by December 14.
