GUWAHATI, Sept 28 - East Bengal Club, riding on a solitary goal scored by their foreign recruit Adeleja, today edged past a spirited Shillong Lajong FC in the second semifinal of the Bordoloi Trophy.
In the keenly contested encounter under lights at the Nehru Stadium here today, Adeleja netted the match winner in the 19th minute. The young Shillong boys tried to overpower the Kolkata outfit in the second session with a better collective effort but the experienced East Bengal players, comprising of three foreigners, handled the pressure and never allowed to hit back.
South Korean Donghyun Do of East Bengal was in nice form and fed his co-attackers quite frequently. However, despite creating several openings East Bengal could not enhance the margin. The final will be played on Friday.
