Dynamo overpower Police

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 27 Dynamo Club posted 3-1 victory against Assam Police Blues in their last match of the first phase in the Abhisek Motors RG Baruah GSA Super Division League.

With todays win Dynamo finished with 15 points from seven matches and confirmed top position in the table. On the other and the policemen completed their preliminary round with just five points and will be at bottom. Now in the relegation round they will be in tight corner as they will have to fight against Gauhati Town Club, ASEB and FCI or Sunrise who are ahead of them.

The policemen should blame them selves for the defeat as despite having distinct domination in the second session they failed to hit the target on several occasions. Substitute Joseph Maslai spoilt their party missing a couple of easy scoring opportunities in the later part of the match.

Dynamo opened the account in the sixth minute through Abraham Goodluck who beat police custodian Dulu Gogoi with a sharp header (1-0).

Just after one minute Mofidul Islam restored parity with a beautiful goal. Anticipating a defence splitting pass from his captain Manoj Boro, Mofidul deceived Dynamo goal keeper Mantu Mallick with an angular drive (1-1).

But again after one minute Onyebi Nandos Ogbonna hit the back of Police net with a header off a centre sent by Goodluck (2-1).

In the added time of the second session Nandos made it 3-1 with an eye catching goal. Dymano medio Kartik Koi set the ball for unmarked Nandos who kept his cool and beat Dulu from an acute angle.
