GUWAHATI, Aug 20 Formidable outfit Navajyoti Club suffered a huge blow as they were tamed by table leader Dynamo Club 4-0 in todays GSA Abhishek Motors RG Baruah Super League Football Tournament.
In an one-sided encounter at the Nehru Stadium here, Dynamo were leading 1-0 at the break and pumped in another three after changing over the sides.
Navajyoti defenders were totally disorganised today and were too slow. The defenders miserably failed to balance themselves and as a result lot of gaps were left for the well organised and fast moving Dynamo attackers.
Navajyoti midfielder Lal Ruat Fela tried to control the ground but was over powered by Ronald Singh and Prasenjit Das.
On the other hand, Dynamo defenders stood high and never allowed the opponent attackers to cruise through.
Kartik Koi drew first blood in the 21st minute off a pass from Abraham Goodluck. Abraham outwitted all the Navajyoti defenders and set the ball for unmarked Kartik to shoot home (1-0). The second goal was the result of a good looking move initiated by Onyebi Nandos Ogbonna who sent a defence splitting pass to Prasenjit Das. Prasenjit found Ronald Singh with a one touch pass and Ronaldo beat the Navajyoti custodian with an angular push in the 50th minute (2-0).
After the second goal, Navajyoti virtually gave up and conceded two more goals.
Kartik set the ball for Ronald after a flag kick and Ronald pushed home from a crowded defence in the 87th minute (3-0). One minute later, Onyebi Nandos Ogbonna completed the rout. Receiving a pass from his Nigerian mate Goodluck, Nandos dodged past the lone Navajyoti defender he had in front of him and gently pushed home (4-0).
