By Correspondent

SHILLONG, Oct 14 - One of the biggest admirers of Bob Dylan, Lou Majaw today said the legendary singer should have received the Nobel prize in the 60s.

I am surprised why it took so long to give him the award. It should have been given in the 60s. It has come way too late, Majaw, who sings Dylans covers, said.

He, however, added he is immensely pleased that finally the man he admires has got the Nobel prize. I love Bob Dylans music for its lyrical depth, Majaw said.

Majaw has been celebrating Dylans birthday in the State Capital here in his own humble way for several years now. Each year, Majaw and his singer friends get together and play some of the Dylans songs. We will be playing this Sunday in honour of Dylan getting the Nobel prize, Majaw informed.

Dylan has been awarded the Nobel prize for Literature for the beautiful lyrics of his songs. Some of his songs Blowin in the Wind, Mr Tambourine Man, Forever Young and several others are anthems for music lovers the world over.

Dylan has brought a new expression of poetry through his songs. Poetry has some element of musicality and Dylan has been able to make that connect between poetry and music, AS Guha, Regional Director of Indira Gandhi National Open University and also a poet and writer, said.
