Dutta reacts over naming of ISL team

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, June 21 Secretary of the Assam Football Association Ankur Dutta has expressed concern over the naming of the Guwahati franchise in the Indian Super League (ISL) which is scheduled to be held from October with eight teams.

The Guwahati team, owned by Bollywood star John Abraham, Shillong Lajong and Sanjib Narain, has been named North East United Football Club. Dutta, who returned here yesterday after attending the recently held FIFA Congress at Sao Paulo, said that Guwahati should be included in the teams name. He said IMG Reliance has allotted the franchise to Guwahati but not to the North-East. So, Guwahatis name must be included while naming the team.

Dutta revealed that he will write to IMG Reliance in this regard and urge the team management to include Guwahatis name.
