ITANAGAR, Aug 27 - Tawang District Police and Tourism Department have jointly established a dedicated District Tourist Police Unit (DTPU) with a Help Desk at Dungyurmani, Old Market, Tawang to ensure safety and security of tourists visiting the district.
The special unit, DTPU, set up on August 17, would be working towards providing assistance, guidance to the tourists visiting their places of interest in Tawang and also ensuring their safety and security. The unit can also take legal action on complaints of tourists and will provide assistance with the documentation and reporting formalities.
The Help Desk would be manned by specially trained personnel with good communication skills and local knowledge, with the Deputy SP, Tawang being designated as the District Nodal Tourist Police Officer, according to an official press note here.
