Dry day at Dhubri from today

GOLAKGANJ, April 8 - The district administration has declared Liquor Prohibition Day for 48 hours with effect from the evening of April 9 in view of the State Assembly polls to be held on April 11 in entire Dhubri district.

The above was proclaimed by the district magistrate yesterday vide an order as per provision of Excise and Election Rules. This prohibition will remain in force from 5:00 pm of April 9 to 5:00 pm of April 11.

Bikash Sarma, DIPRO of Dhubri has mentioned in a press release that activities like intoxication, possession, selling and distribution of liquor during the said period will be treated as illegal.
