GUWAHATI, Dec 3 - Assam also joined the rest of the nation in observing the 133rd birth anniversary of the first President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad, today.
On this occasion, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu led the State in paying rich tribute to the portrait of Dr Rajendra Prasad at a simple function held at the Raj Bhavan here this morning.
Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi remembered Dr Rajendra Prasad�s rich contributions in Independent India.
In the brief programme which lasted for about 20 minutes, both the Vice President and the Governor remembered Dr Rajendra Prasad�s invaluable services to the development of the nation.
