Dr P Goswami new Director of CSIR institute

GUWAHATI, March 12 - Dr Prashant Goswami of Assam has assumed charge as the new Director of the CSIR-National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS), New Delhi, recently.

Till his appointment as the NISTADS Director, Goswami had been leading the Climate and Environmental Programme at the CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation (C-MMACS) as a Chief Scientist.

He is a recipient of the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in Earth Sciences (2001). He has been also a Lead Author in the Assessment Report 5 of Inter Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Dr Goswami had obtained his doctoral degree in Theoretical Physics at IISc, Bangalore.
