Dr KK Saharia in ICAR panel

GUWAHATI, Feb 7 � In an attempt to revamp the sector and to pay continued attention to the development of agriculture and allied sectors in the north-eastern region of the country, the Union Agriculture Ministry has nominated Dr Kamala Kanta Saharia, Professor of the College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, to the General Body of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Society, stated press release.

Dr Saharia, recipient of University Gold Medal, Neil Lagerlof Best Paper Award of Indian Veterinary Journal, Fellow Award of Society of Extension Education and Meritorious Award winner of Indian Society of Animal Production Management, will be the first member to the esteemed body from the North East.

Dr Saharia will start his stint of three years with the 86th annual general meeting of the ICAR Society on February 18.
